what a week!

Not only have i experienced the value of true friendship, felt pain for another person that i could not comprehend. In all that happens, you can find a reason to smile.
One of my colleagues who has become a friend experienced a loss on Wednesday that i would not wish on anybody. She received a call at the office from her husband, telling her that her daughter (13months old) had stopped breathing - he had the day off work, so was taking care of her at home - she immediately hung up and drove to the hospital. That's the last we saw of her for quite some time, but just after she'd left a nurse called and told us that the baby had died on arrival.
We were all so devastated & tried calling, but her phone was turned off.
We sat together at lunch, and just cried as friends for her loss. After work, we got together & went to her home to be with her & the family. The sadness/grief was so overwhelming that i couldnt even say anything to her.. we sat there together, prayed, sang and just showed that she was in our hearts.
I felt such pain and loss for her... parents are not to bury their children, it's not supposed to happen that way.
The next day we all chipped in and bought groceries for the family to live on during this time. The last thing on their minds was buying groceries etc. Other colleagues also pitched in and one of the designers made a card that we all signed.
Last night we then drove to her home, dropped off the groceries and lightened the mood a little. Candice (our friend) started talking & even had a smile on her face. by the time we left we were all laughing and i was so proud to know that we really were friends & not just colleagues.
What i know for sure:
- Not now, not next week, not next month but she will be okay
- Helping out someone else, makes you feel so much better as a person
- Everything happens for a reason
- Heavenly Father sends tender mercies & miracles in ways that we do not understand
- Choose your friends wisely
- Net#work BBDO has some great people, who can pull together in tough times

Sean and I also experienced this. Our best friends lost their baby a couple months ago too. It's really hard and VERY sad. Thank goodness for the gospel!
