antwerpen, belgie

i completed my weekend to-do list :)

went to antwerp, belgium with a fellow south african friend (living in den haag)

had fun

at the yummiest waffles i have EVER tasted

kissed statues

did a little (very little) shopping

and tried so hard to keep warm in the middle of a blizzard - yep, we're hardcore

oh, and we met a monk!

a. it was too cold to pull out the camera & take pics

b. blogger's being stank & not letting me put up pics properly. blah.

ps:

i took the train to den haag - one transfer -  2,5 hours

i took the train back to leeuwarden - 2 transfers - 5 hours

why?

the snow!

trains were either delayed or cancelled altogether and when i finally arrived in leeuwarden the buses weren't going (did i use the right word there?).

there'd been 2 accidents earlier in the day, so they cancelled all buses

i only realised this after standing in the bitter cold for 40 minutes

thankfully there were taxi's (12euros later!)
