i had my first car accident today. sad day.

driving home, happily singing along to Lenka & before i know it, the car infront of me has come to a dead halt.& it's too late. i've slammed into the back of it.

oh no you say? yes, oh no.

shake uncontrollably. tears streaming. head rushing.

think thobeka think - what happens now?

i was blessed in that the lady i hit was so kind! her car didn't really have any damage, & she hugged me & told me "these things happen, it's okay". how great is that.

we exchanged details, which i've subsequently lost.

another blessing. this all happened right outside the randburg firestation, so there were many helpers.

i moved the car off the road & called my insurance.

they sent over a tow truck & i watched my first big purchase roll away...

i called charlotte (my 'senior' at work) & she was there in 10minutes, with ryan. she walked up to me & gave me the biggest hug, which in turn made me weep. yes. i weeped.

it's my first accident - i'm allowed to!

i would've called my sister, but they left this afternoon for durban. talk about timing! :)

so yeah, 2 hours later - i'm without a car. my car.

i need to go to the police station within 24hours to open a case & get a case number, which i then need to give my insurance, so i can lodge a claim.
